French Apple Pie

Filling:
¾ c. sugar (add more if tart apples)
¼ c. flour
½ tsp. cinnamon
6 c. apples
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine (dot on top)
Combine the above.  Pour on top of pie crust in a pie pan.  Dot margarine top.

Topping:
1 c. flour
½ c. brown sugar
½ c. butter or margarine
Mix together and pat on top of apples.  Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.  Lower the temperature to 350 and bake for 35-40 minutes.
